Join us for the summer ASC Coffee Chat Series for graduate students and postdocs. Each session in the series will be led by industry or government professionals or HR staff and will contribute to your career development in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to:
   - Career exposure
   - Professional development & skill building for the transition to industry
   - Preparation for interviews
   - Insights and tips on leveraging career-related tools and resources (e.g., LinkedIn)

This series is a mix of in-person and virtual modality. Thanks to our co-sponsors in Ohio State's Military and Veteran's Services, we will offer coffee and donuts to fuel the discussion during in-person sessions.
   
 

On Wednesday, July 20th from 10:30-11:30am ET, Mix Talent will share tips on keeping LinkedIn profile up to date and optimized to highlight accomplishments and reflect resume, using LinkedIn to network, and working with recruiters. Mix Talent representatives will remain on campus in Denney Hall until 12:30pm to field additional questions or to connect with individuals who could not attend the session.

Presenters:
Courtney Cain-Littlefield- Recruiting Lead at Mix Talent: After 15 years in the Hospitality Industry, Courtney Cain-Littlefield earned a BS in Biology with research in Environmental Microbiology. As a non-traditional student, she obtained a grant and created a Science Conference to connect undergrads with the Tampa Bay Scientific community. Immediately after graduation, she joined AmeriCorps to teach Biology at a Title 1 High School in Charlotte, NC. She then transitioned to the Food Science Industry. While her background is diverse, the common thread is to serve others. She is currently the R&D Recruiting Lead for Mix Talent, based in Columbus, where she advocates for Scientific candidates and matches them with Biotech companies. Courtney currently resides in Cincinnati and spends her free time finding obscure events focused on anything travel, food, art, or paranormal related.
   
Agatha Maki, PhD – Recruiter at Mix Talent: Agatha has over 15 years of experience in life sciences, neuroscience, gene therapy, and project management. She holds a PhD in neuroscience and spent the early part of her career as a bench scientist involved in various stages of drug discovery – preclinical to translational research. Agatha pivoted into a client-facing role as a project manager for a gene therapy CDMO after completing a postdoc in gene therapy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Agatha managed the client portfolio, contract development, federal funding, and technology transfer for cGMP production of Phase I investigational gene therapy/cell-based therapy drugs. Following her role as a project manager, Agatha transitioned into life science recruitment. At Mix Talent, she is a recruiter focusing on bringing in top-talent for small to medium-sized pharma and biotech companies. Her experience provides a unique perspective to the life science recruitment process. Agatha lives in Columbus with her family.
