As soon as you activate your Handshake account, choose which Career Communities you would like to explore. Each community is based around an industry and offers unique content, such as:
- Industry information and resources
- Virtual connections around similar career interests
- Alumni spotlights
- Information about internship and full-time job opportunities
Explore multiple Career Communities and attend events across industries — you’ll develop a great network for future opportunities and learn about the wonderful career paths available to students from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Explore one or more Career Communities using your Handshake account. To identify your Career Communities in Handshake, select your account, then "Career Interests" and select the Career Communities you prefer under "Select a number of career communities..." Learn more by watching this video:
PARTICIPATE IN OUR SIGNATURE PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
As you find events on our website that interest you, take note of which Career Community icons are displayed. You're welcome to attend all events, but if you're in one of the Career Communities displayed you'll find the event especially helpful. Our signature programs include casual events where you can speak off the record with alumni and employers and discover potential career fields in a laid-back setting. They also include more professional events catered to students who have decided on their career paths and are ready to connect with alumni and employers about opportunities. These events are designed to help you achieve success in your internship and full-time job search.
