Career Success Welcomes Gil Scott Keyes

We are excited to announce our new employer engagement coordinator at the Career Success Center, Gil Scott Keyes. Keyes' position focuses on building relationships with employers from around the country through career fairs and career treks. He looks forward to collaborating with industry connections, fostering exceptional opportunities for students, and providing impactful mentorship.

Before joining Ohio State, Gil Scott Keyes worked at the Urban League in workforce development, engaging with individuals at every level of education and serving as the dean of students in Washington, D.C. Keyes graduated with a communications degree from Ohio Dominican University, where he played basketball and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. In the past, Keyes also worked at a daycare and coached basketball, demonstrating his passion for youth and community involvement. While taking on his new position, Keyes is continuing his education in public administration, aspiring to earn his doctorate.

Keyes is particularly enthusiastic about his role at Career Success, aiming to directly facilitate students' employment after college. His advice to students is to seize all opportunities college offers, drawing from their experiences and maximizing opportunities during their academic journey. He emphasizes the importance of seeing the bigger picture and embracing the grind to achieve financial success.
