On May 6, 2025, 14 students from Ohio State’s College of Arts and Sciences arrived in New York City for a career exploration trek focused on creative industries. Representing majors such as moving image production and strategic communication, the students engaged with alumni and professionals across advertising, animation, luxury branding, and television sectors.

The trek commenced with a visit to ABC News Studio, where alum Maya Neyman shared her post-graduation experiences and introduced students to colleagues in various roles. At TBWA, a leading global advertising agency, students participated in a panel discussion with creative professionals discussing industry trends and challenges.

The group also visited LVMH, hosted by alum Emma Foxall and Lauren Rosenberg from the Fisher College of Business, to learn about brand strategy and marketing for luxury brands like Bulgari and Dior. Despite initial travel disruptions, students adapted by attending a virtual session with WPP, a multinational communications and advertising company.

Further insights into film distribution and marketing were gained at NEON, facilitated by alum Bridgett Lindsey, who led a Q&A session with her colleagues. The trek concluded with a visit to Titmouse, an independent animation studio, where students toured the workspace and interacted with artists about their creative processes.

An evening alumni mixer provided students with the opportunity to practice their elevator pitches and expand their professional networks in a relaxed setting.

This NYC Career Trek exemplifies the College of Arts and Sciences' commitment to providing students with experiential learning opportunities that bridge academic studies and professional aspirations.
