Ohio State  University Theatre alumni Alex Lefeld and Katie Drown are returning to campus this fall to lead Strengthening Soft Skills through Improv, a hands-on workshop that shows how improvisation can build confidence and improve the way people work together. The event, hosted by the Wexner Center for the Arts in partnership with ASC Career Success, will take place on Tuesday, October 14, from 12–2 p.m. in the Wexner Center Performance Space. As co-founders of WitWorks, Lefeld and Drown bring “Improv at Work” training to organizations across the country. Both trace their paths back to their time as students in Ohio State’s College of Arts and Sciences. Drown, who previously worked in the tech industry, saw the power of improv when she led global training programs and witnessed how it changed the way teams communicated and supported each other. Lefeld, who founded Fishbowl Improv as a student, points to the confidence and adaptability improv gave him and how those qualities have shaped his career. Together, they created WitWorks to help people learn and grow through the same practice that has guided their own journeys.

Students who attend can expect a fun and engaging afternoon that offers new perspectives to take into their classes, internships, and future careers. The event is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, with special outreach to those in the creative, visual, and performing arts. The Wexner Center is proud to host this program as part of its ongoing effort to connect alumni with current students and support the next generation of artists and leaders.
