Come network with members of the Columbus American Advertising Federation (AAF), participate in a mock interview with local professionals, and gather in person to engage with a virtual Life Beyond Degree panel discussion. Meet & Greet with AAF (4PM-6PM)
AAF Columbus is the local chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), and brings together advertising and communications professionals for networking, education and fun! They strive to create an inclusive community of local marketing professionals, offering monthly meetings featuring top speakers, along with educational classes and seminars on an array of industry topics. The true power of AAF is the network. AAF connects advertising and communication professionals to each other and opportunities in our City.
Open Mic - Mock Interviews (4PM-6PM)
Join us for a mock interview session, open mic style to sharpen those Q&A responses before hitting the job market. The open-mic session means you can come, sign up for a 20-minute segment, and practice interviewing with a few experienced advertising and communication professionals. You will get to field multiple questions you may hear during a typical hiring process and get feedback on your whole experience. You will have the opportunity to ask questions you might normally never get to ask your interviewer. Bring a resume and portfolio if applicable.
Virtual Life Beyond Degree: Pathways for Communication and Journalism Majors (6PM-7PM)
This panel session will be hosted virtually. Students may log in from wherever they feel most comfortable but are also welcome to gather in person in 168 Denney Hall where we will be broadcasting the interactive discussion from our 72-inch big screen. Please register through Handshake if you are attending in person at Denney or virtually.
Are you interested in exploring what options are available to you after graduation with your communication or journalism degree? Then join Career Success for our Life Beyond Degree: Explore Pathways in Communication and Journalism. This panel-style event will allow current Ohio State Students to learn from Alumni. Alumni will share about their current roles as well as their experiences obtaining these roles after graduating from Ohio State. Alumni on this panel have roles across a variety of industries such as journalism, higher education, and marketing.
