The Graduate Student & Postdoc Industry Recruitment Event will bring a diverse group of industries and organizations who are specifically recruiting your high level degree to meet with you on campus (Oct. 25th) and virtually (Oct. 26th). That's right, there won't be any undergraduates at this event. Make sure to sign up for both events on Handshake! All levels - from first-year graduate students and postdocs to those finishing up your programs - are welcome to join us for this event. This is a great opportunity for those of you exploring the age old question: Academia or Industry, which one is for me? And for those definitely interested in industry, this event is a MUST for networking, exploring, and/or finding your first professional career. So don’t miss out…Register now! Master's and Ph.D students, you should have a Handshake account already. All you need to do to activate it is log on to Handshake (https://joinhandshake.com) using your Name.# and your normal account password. If you have any issues getting on Handshake, reach out to your Career Services office (https://careers.osu.edu/students/career-services-offices) or the Career Counseling and Support Services Office (https://ccss.osu.edu/) to request help. POSTDOCS ONLY: If you are listed as Post-Doctoral Scholar or Post-Doctoral Scholar-NRSA in WorkDay, then you are eligible for a FREE Handshake account. Handshake is a platform used by over 800 colleges and universities, including Ohio State, that provides you with access to thousands of fellowships, postdocs (if you are looking for a 2nd one), or entry-level jobs! To request your FREE Handshake account, you must email Buckeye Careers at Handshake@osu.edu. In the email subject line put “Postdoc requesting a Handshake account” and in the body of your message provide your full name, department, and your employee ID (the 9-digit number on your Buck ID). Do this ASAP, as it can take several days for them to get your account activated. NOTE: For those who are not listed as Post-Doctoral Scholars/NRSA in WorkDay, you will not be able to attend the virtual career fair, but you WILL be able to attend the in-person event. GRADUATING SOON? For those finishing their programs in Dec 2022, or May, August, or Dec 2023, there will be an opportunity to submit your resume (not a C.V.) through the registration process. Whether you can ultimately attend the events or not, you will be able to submit a resume and we strongly encourage you to do so! It's a great way to get on these employers' radars. For those of you who know for certain you are industry-bound, we recommend submitting a resume no matter where you are in your program.
